Zoom Meetings: 10 Reasons Why I’m Breaking Up With You

Too many Zoom meetings can result in zoom fatigue! Ditch Zoom for Weet.

Zoom Meetings, I can't do this anymore. It's not me, it's you 😁

Zoom meetings, let me be the first to say… thank you for trying. It was truly a noble effort! But it’s plain to see that the times they are a-changin’ and the old way of doing things just isn’t cutting in anymore.

Zoom fatigue, connectivity issues, zombie meetings, the list goes on. You’re just so… 2020. (Yuck!) There are plenty of reasons why zoom meetings are the bane of our collective existence. That’s why I’m ditching you for Weet.

Weet is a video and screen recording platform designed to save users time. With Weet I can effortlessly record and send in less time than it takes to draft an email with the same information!

Zoom meetings, I'm sorry. Goodbye forever. Here's why we have to go our separate ways:

1. Zoom Fatigue

A 2020 study shows that Zoom fatigue is “widely prevalent, intense, and completely new.” Zoom fatigue is defined as the tiredness, worry, or burnout associated with overusing virtual platforms of communication. The study also found that:

  • 38% say they’ve experienced video call fatigue since the start of the pandemic
  • 26% note that the practicality and novelty of videoconferencing has worn off over the past eight months
  • 24% confirm they find virtual meetings inefficient and exhausting and prefer to communicate via other channels, like email or phone.

Weet believes that zoom meetings are dead! Weet allows you to get all of the face-to-face interaction, rich collaboration, and knowledge sharing of a video meeting, without having to attend a video meeting. Honestly, what could be better?

2. Security

Zoom meetings are not secure. In a survey by TechRepublic, 35% of professionals are worried their information may have been compromised on Zoom.  12% of those users quit using Zoom meetings completely due to their security worries.

Weet is secure and gives you options to publicly or privately share your content. With each Weet you choose whether your collaborators can edit the content or not.

3. Zoom Bombing

Zoom bombing (also called Zoom raiding) is the “unwanted, disruptive intrusion, generally by Internet trolls, into a video-conference call”.

According to Forbes, “No one’s immune from this threat.”  This problem is so pervasive that the FBI issued a warning to Zoom users in 2020. Yikes. 💣

Worry not! Weets are pre-recorded then shared with your audience. No one can disrupt or intrude on your Weet!

4. Improve Decision-Making & Creativity

Long video meetings kill creativity and smart decision-making. People naturally require time to think about big decisions.  Weet gives you the time you need to respond and be creative.

5. Connectivity Issues

Raise your hand if connection problems have created an inconvenience for you in a video meeting? 🙋🏾‍♀️  Never deal with laggy connections again! Weet gives you crisp content without the drag.

6. Get to the Point

Live meetings are exhausting. We all know how much energy and concentration goes into being present for a 90-minute Zoom meetings. #notfun Get to the point clearly and quickly with Weet. Your viewers and collaborators can view when they are ready and poised to do their best work!

7. Create Trust

When an organization schedules too many Zoom meetings it becomes unproductive. Employees may begin to feel like they are being micromanaged or aren’t trusted to use their time efficiently. Create a truly collaborative environment with Weet. Collaborators respond on their own schedules and are able to enjoy their freedom and flexibility.

8. Shy People Rejoice!

Many people are shy and don’t feel empowered or comfortable speaking up in Zoom meetings. It can be difficult to speak in front of large groups with a camera zoomed in on your face and displaying it full-screen on the other end! With Weet your data is the main star of the show, not your face. For bad hair days or just plain bad days, we don’t always want our magnified face broadcasted for all to see. That’s one reason that Weet minimizes the webcam feed and maximizes your workspace. You still get the personal touch but with a focus on information and collaboration.

9. Live Meetings are Notoriously Unproductive

Research compiled by Otter.ai found that:

  • 11 million meetings are held each day
  • 15% of an organization’s time is spent in meetings, which has increased every year since 2008.
  • The employees in upper management spend 50% of their time in meetings.
  • A recent survey found that 67% of employees complain that spending too much time in meetings hinders them from being productive at work.
  • More than 35% of employees found that they waste 2 to 5 hours per day on meetings and calls, but they achieve nothing to show.

It doesn’t need to be this way! With Weet you never have to suffer through a pointless Zoom meetings again! Get to the point, do it on your schedule, and collaborate effectively with a fraction of the effort a Zoom meeting requires.

10. Zombie Meetings

Zombie meetings are “scheduled, recurring meetings that often result in employees not attending several times in a row. This could be a result of anything from the meeting host no longer working at the company to rescheduling the meeting without canceling the initial room reservation.” Research from Successful Meetings revealed that 4% of employees have organized a zombie meeting. Many more of us have 1 or 2 lingering in our calendars right now or in the past.  Being asynchronous, Weet allows you to escape the zombie meeting trap. After all, there is no meeting to schedule! 😉

So, Zoom, now you understand why I’m leaving. 💔  I have to do what is best for me. I value my time, Zoom. I want to be efficient and clear in my communications. Weet is the future!
